What an incredible night celebrating National Women’s Enterprise Day 2024
We gathered dynamic women in business from Leitrim, Sligo, and beyond for an evening full of inspiration, connection, and learning. The energy was electric, reflecting the passion that drives these entrepreneurs. A huge thank you to Sheena, Shona, and the teams at the Sligo and Leitrim Local Enterprise Offices for their unwavering support, and to Doherty, Chris, and the Juniper Barn team for creating such a stunning venue—made even more magical by the contributions of local suppliers.
Our theme, “Making it Happen” with “No Ordinary Life”, embodied the spirit of the evening. We celebrated women who defy limits to create extraordinary businesses and lives. A shoutout to our incredible panel—Jo O’Brien, Izzy Claffey, and Norah Casey— led in fascinating, open and honest conversation by the talented Maeve McCormack. Their insights were nothing short of captivating, from personal traumas, resetting, and using their strength and resilience to transition, be successful, and continue to grow in completely different businesses. The audience discussion unearthed knowledge sharing, genuine invaluable advice, vulnerability at its it’s best from “invisible to invaluable,” cultivating a growth mindset, along with taking time for balancing family and well-being, and the power of self-promotion for women across the globe.
Our networking sessions, facilitated by Fran Best, built on these learnings. We utilised the expertise of the panel to form our networking conversations, Jo’s honesty on balancing well-being, family, and business resonated with many along with the “To do” list. Norah emphasised the importance of authentic connections, sharing stories about the incredible people that she mentors across the global reminding us that “quality” of networking and genuine connections beats “quantity”. Izzy encouraged everyone to “show, rather than tell” when demonstrating their strengths, sparking great conversation about actionable steps for each of us to implement. New connections were make and contracts shared, with future collaborations ignited.
It was a night to remember, filled with powerful moments and takeaways, thank you to each and every person that make it happen.
